    Hi,
    1) will henna hair color stain my tub permanently?
    2) I can not swim in the ocean?
    3) I would like to order brown shade henna, but you add also some herbs in the color.
I have some grays. Will the henna+indigo only without the herbs colot the grays?
Is there any chance to mix for me the brown color with henna and indigo only with no
herbs? I do not want to buy henna and indigo seperately.

    Thank you :-)

    • 1. No it should not. It will also wash out of clothes.
      2. You can, but over time browns can turn green from the salt. Everyone is different. If it turns green redo it.
      3. All of our herbs condition the hair, however you can mix your own brown using indigo and henna. 50/50 for brown, 75% indigo and 25% indigo for dark brown (3 to 1).
The more indigo you add the darker the color.
All of our colors come premixed, herbs or no herbs it should cover your gray just fine. Just make sure you shampoo your hair twice prior to application. No conditioners or oil treatments prior. No oil after, but rinse conditioner is fine after.

i lightened my hair form my natural light brown to a light gold. i want my hair dark chocolate brown, will this give me the result that i want? or should i go for something more permanent and strong?

  • Brianna:

Hi, i’ve been coloring my hair for years..my hair is slightly damaged but getting better. My natural hair color is dirty blonde but I dyed it blonde, (my roots are showing now tho). I want dark brown hair but I was wondering if the dark brown henna will actually show up dark brown on my hair? I’m afraid it will come out too light, should I use the jet black?
    Thanks!

    • Smart thinking. I would get the black yes and start by mixing your own dark brown mixing 3 parts indigo 1 part henna (black comes with 100grams of each) . If it is not dark enough you can go over it again. Remember it takes 24-48 hours to see the final color, at that point you can redo it if you want. Second time you can mix it 50-50 and it will darken it up.

Thank you very much for your quick reply and a fruitful advise.

As I glance your website, i also have read about the 2 step process of henna and indigo.
In the case of my falling and thinning hair, which of the 2 would you recommend, the henna dye or the 2 step process?

    • bre:

It just depends on what color you are looking for. The two step process will give you jet black. Dark brown will obviously give you dark brown, and will be lighter than the black.

  • Ellen:

I was really looking for a natural hair dye that has no chemicals in it and found your website. My hair is black and having grey about 30%, which i want to get rid off.
Would it be alright if i mix your henna dye to my recipe of amla oil, egg, shikakai oil, & lemon juice? I was trying to use the mentioned recipe for my thinning and falling hair.
Can i use dark brown henna dye for my hair? Please advise, thanks!

    • bre:

I’m sure our hair dyes would be perfect for you! Dark brown and Mahogany is the closest color to black that we have, so yes, I believe it should work for you if you are trying to avoid the 2-step process for black. For best results, I wouldn’t recommend using all of the additives in the henna mix. I would do them separately. Our henna is the freshest that you can get, therefore you don’t need to use any additives to get better color. You want your hair as clean as possible when applying the henna mix in order for the color to bind to the pigment easily. Also, if you are experiencing thinning and falling hair, I would stay away from the lemon juice – It’s acidity can do more harm to your hair than good.

  • Andrea:

Just wondering how you do it, I’m amazed, where you can get your henna to release that fast, in less than two hours, how is that possible??
Also, what’s the best way to do a test to know when its actualy released and ready to go?

    • bre:

We have the freshest henna you can buy. We keep it in air-tight and light proof packages to keep it as fresh as possible, which is why the color is able to release so quickly – and also why it isn’t necessary to use any additives in the mixture. You should do a strand test just as you would dye your hair. Take a small amount of henna mix and mix it with enough water to make a pudding or yogurt consistency. Apply to the clean strand of hair, and let it sit for an hour. Rinse with water. After 24 hours, you will see the final color that the henna mix will give you permanently.

The price for 3 packets is listed as 16.96 but when I ordered it the price is listed as 26.96?

    why?

    • bre:

Sorry for the confusion, the price for 3 packets is $26.94. The +$16.96 that you see next to the 3 packets is the price for one packet ($9.98) PLUS the $16.96, which is $26.94. You save a dollar on each packet when you buy 3, and pay the same shipping as you would when you buy just one. And when you buy 5 packets, you save two dollars on each packet.

Looking to cover gray and cover my chemically dyed hair that is brown but faded. Brown henna? Just add water, lve on for 1 hour, rinse and don’t wash for 48 hrs? Did I get it right?

  • quick question – approximately three weeks ago I had my hairstylist help me try a henna treatment for the first time. I have dark brown hair with quite a bit of gray and she decided to use black (Rainbow Henna Persian Black) because she thought it would take better. Right after the treatment my hair seemed darker, it never really covered that much but over the last three weeks it almost seems like the dye is coming off and any hairs that remain dyed have a purplish hue. I would like to try your product but I am not sure how long I should wait between treatments and if now since I used black I am going to have problems. I hope you can help.

    Thanks

    • You can use ours anytime… it is healthy hair dye.
purple means you are adding alcohol. somehow some way or distilled water. This will turn indigo, the main ingredient in dark brown/black purple :) Also stay away form leave in conditioners.

      • Thank you for the reply. The stylist used coffee and apple cider vinegar as well as drying my hair under a dryer for an hour- no alcohol used and she used regular tap water. Either way I assume it was done wrong.

        • Yes totally wrong, coffee will dilute the dye. Same with tea. Fact is if coffee or tea worked we would use it all by itself and get browns… Apple cider vinegar is ok if you are doing browns and it is not taking. Most forget it takes 48 hours and most do not wash there hair “just” prior to application. You can use a hair dryer “after” you rinse it out. Big mistake doing it with the henna in your hair. It is the opposite of chemical hair dye. Henna needs to dry naturally and then once you rinse it you can dry it with a dryer for 5-10 minutes. Never ever use a dry with henna on your head. If you cover it let it breath, it will work much better as it drys naturally. I see people using saran wrap etc and this slows the process.
Best advice is to follow the instructions on the packet, and with many UN experienced people selling henna, they come up with kookie recipes to get the henna to work because it is no good. adding stuff to the mix, having to let it set out over night before you apply is all a sign of poor quality henna. It is only harvested once a year, sometimes twice, however it goes bad fast. We double seal ours as soon as it is dried and triple cloth sifted. So it is super fresh every time. This is why Harvest Moon Henna is growing so fast.

    Hi

I saw your website and so happy to know that you have natural solution in the form of Henna and Indigo for my grey hairs. I am living in Rawalpindi a city of Pakistan. Can you deliver your products there? I am anxiously waiting for your kind response.
If you do not deliver it there in Pakistan then how can i get it?

  • Jill:

I have chemically dyed red hair. And today I brought a dark brown henna mix. I would rather be more brown then red. Will this work?

    • Jill:

I would like the dark brown to just get rid of all the red. What should I mix it will- it mentioned black tea or coffee?? Is that right?

      • Just warm to hot tap water! Nothing more ever! Follow all manufacture instructions for best results. If coffee worked so well we would be using it, not henna. Not bottled water, no distilled water either. Good old tap water.

    • As long as it is Harvest Moon® I can say yes it will. Mahogany will work as well, but it will be very dark brown.

  • Julia:

I have mostly natural colored hair except for the top layer of my hair that have some blonde streaks running through (chemically colored ) but they are pretty old and grown out a little and faded, the bottom half of my head is light brown, if i go dark brown is anything other then dark brown going to come out.

    • It should be dark brown all over. Do a strand test to make sure.
If you want red, use mahogany, it will be dark brown with a “hint” of red.

Other wise dark brown is dark brown.

  • yaya:

What’s the longest I can leave the deep red henna in my hair? Would 3 hrs. be okay since my hair is so dark?

  • yaya:

How many packets of dye do I need? I have dreadlocks (my hair is thick) and they come a 2-4 inches below my shoulder (my hair is a little uneven). I am going to do one deep red treatment, and if I don’t notice any difference, I will do another deep red treatment with 15% mahogany. I have very dark brown hair that almost looks black. In some places my hair is a lighter brown.
