hi i have a serous ppd allergy and i want to dye my hair black with henna dye. will I get an allergic reaction?

    • Our dye is 100% vegan. With that said some people are allergic to honey, some to peanuts. 95% of our customers come to us after they get out of the hospital from PPD. So you should be fine.

Great ! I love the result on my hair, it looks black.yes,BLACK!!
The only question is can I use “Any shampoo” after 48 hours?I’ve read that”…
… it will turn your hair green if you used a commercial dandruff shampoo containing sulfates and/or sodium prior to using henna….” Is that real? I have severe dandruff problem, could u give me comment of what shampoo should I use after henna dye?

    • Yes you can. Just not color treated shampoo. You hair is no longer chemical treated :) Yes very true, dandruff shampoo is usually loaded with sulfate and sodium (salt). Salt will react with indigo over time and cause it to turn green. If you do the two step process each month it should rid your dandruff, split ends etc.
So use the shampoo of your choice, just not the dandruff shampoo. We do have a Natural shampoo that is for dandruff as well, we are just sold out at the moment.

After applying your Henna, My hair is super soft and beautiful. Thank you for your time.

  • Alexstrasza:

Alright, thank you so much for the quick response. I actually have one more question…when doing the two step process for the black, how long do you need to leave your hair red before you can apply the indigo?

    • Some can leave it in for 15 minutes and it works, we recommend 1 hour. Then go down from there. You can leave it on up to 1.5 hours with pure henna and pure indigo.
All other colors we recommend 1 hour.

      Hope that helps!

  • Alexstrasza:

All right, I have just one question…my hair is just slightly below mid-back length and is relatively thick, how many packets of Henna will I need? Thank you for your time.

    • 2 packets. One packet will do bra length hair. So you will need one packet and a quarter. Save what you have left over and put in a zip lock baggy and store in a dark place.. squeeze are out as well. Not in the refrigerator!

    Hi,

I have a lot of grey/white peppering my dark brown/black hair, and I need a henna that works; I tried one a few months ago and even after 3 applications totalling 9 hours, the greys were still grey. I am keen to try your product but was wondering, do you ship to the UK? what are your postal charges and how long does it take to get here (rough estimate)? Does it come in powder form? do you not sell in cream form for immediate application (might make life easier!)?

    • We do ship to the UK yes, you will have to see what it cost at check out. it will estimates as you add to the cart also select your country etc. rough estimate depending on what you buy would be 15-30.00 us.
We do not use creams. Creams go bad quickly, once the henna is mixed it goes old over a day or so. Just use a cake blender with a wire wisk, takes 1 minute ;)

Ours should work on you, if it does not we do have trouble shooting, it works on 97% of our customers and out of those 50% do not follow the directions and will tell you they have and then find out they have not.
It is really easy and comes with directions.

      Thanks!

hello, i have dark brown hairWith natural red highlights,it’s long and thick will 1 pack of cover my hair? and do i still need to dye it with henna first befor the indigo? will the henna make my hair red?

    • One pack will cover bra length hair. Just do not mix it to runny. If you dye it with henna and then indigo it will be red and then black. The question I have is what color are you wanting to do?
If you dark brown and want red in it do deep red. :)

  • Gah:

Can Henna damage hair over time? I dye my hair black every 2 or so months, but my hair grows abnormally fast so my blond roots show up pretty quickly. Obviously I need a product that can withstand washing my hair (which I do every other day usually.) Does Henna wash out quickly? How dark is this shade of black? I tend to go to the very darkest shade always since dye naturally fades over time and whatnot.

    • Yes it will work and you can do it as often as you like. Just do root touch ups as roots grow in. See our videos on root touch up and black hair dye. The black can be jet black and if you want it darker just do it again. All depends on how your hair takes to it.

    Hello! Great, informative website.
I’ve had dreadlocks for about four and a half, five years now. I’ve been dying my fine, straight hair black with chemical dyes for way longer, but I have trouble getting the dye into the dreads. Now they’re basically dark brown, and I’m over chemical dyes. Your website leads me to believe that henna/indigo is the way to go, but I think the dying process is going to be VERY time consuming, what with rubbing the dye into each and every dread, which are almost to my waist.
I haven’t seen any questions on here regarding dreadlocks, and I noticed you said that one must apply the indigo instantly. My hair’s gonna take some time. Is this going to work?
    Thanks so much!!

    • It will work yes indeed :) You should be OK, just get everything ready prior to application and mixing. Have a friend help you.. You will need to be less than 2 hours or it will start going more red. It will not take you as long as you think We have many many many customers that use henna on there dreadlocks. I think there is even a before and after picture here:
      http://hennahut.com/henna_testimonials

Half way down and she has blond dreads and went deep/ or mahogany red.

Chemicals are bad for you, so give it a try :) You will be glad later.

Thanks, I’ve placed an order. I’ll post a pic of my success!

      • Amberrr:

Today’s the day, I’m applying the henna and indigo; I just have a few final questions regarding my dreadlocks.
Haven’t washed them in a few days, should I do that first thing? Should the dreadlocks then be completely dry before applying the henna?
After rinsing out the henna, should I let the dreads completely dry throughout before applying the indigo, or is damp okay?
Thank you for all your help!!

        • Yes for sure wash it first and then again 24 hours after you rinse it out. Get it as dry as possible. Remember it will take 24-48 hours to get to final color.

Hi I am looking to dye/tint my hair I am 29 and I have severals grays around my hair line. I wa born gray so this is not an issue but I am African American with off black loose kinky curls and all natural hair. I am looking to use your all natural product preferrably but I wouldn’t mind going black either. I am not a big fan of leave in conditioners but I will tell you a few products I use to let you in on how my hair will be mananged. I use Dr Bromenns magic soap, natural shea butter mixed with cocunut oil as a daily moisturizer. I use generic the sally’s version of Paul Mitchell and daily detanglers and conditioners. Not a big hair washer for the curly hair dries often so more moisture is necessary.

    • If you like black go black. Our hair dye does not discriminate. It looks for protein and binds to it. As far as the products go there is millions so it is impossible for us to try them all.

  • Linda Rowell:

I just started using the jet black henna hair dye and I absolutely love it. I did notice about a week later that the my white hair (not gray) turned red. I left both dye’s in for an hour each. Separate instructions said to use a medium size lemon which I did not. I only followed the instuctons on the package itself. I will use the lemon next time, to see if it makes a difference. Do you have any other suggestions?

    • If the black is fading it is usually something you are putting in your hair like leave in conditioners.
regular tap water, one hour each, sounds perfect.

With me for example, I could not wash it out with a brush and dish washing detergent.

Also make sure when you mix the indigo you apply it asap. Do not let it set out.
You can add a table spoon of salt if it washes out and or some apple vinegar. the vinegar will not smell for very long.

Meanwhile you should not have to use anything besides water. Those cases above are people that are usually not dye able at all.

Which leads me to leave in conditioner… it will strip the indigo and leave the henna.

let me know, as it should not be coming out

  • Jessi:

Your black is the best all natural black I have ever used. I am very impressed and will order from you all of the time. Thank you for a wonderful product!

  • Jane:

Hi, I have a naturally dark brwn hair colour and I would like to go black. as black as possible. What henna colour would you recommend that I use? Thanks.

    • I recommend you use Harvest Moon all natural black Black hair dye. Let the Henna Sit out for 4 hours apply to hair and then after 1 hour rinse. The mix and apply Indigo ASAP, do not let it sit on counter. Leave on one hour. Over the next 48 hours your hair will turn jet black. This is the color I am doing right now and I love it. After you get black just mix 75% Indigo and 25% (or 60.40) Henna together and apply to roots for root touch up.

  • Imani:

I have used chemical hair dye over a year ago and I have black hair which is fading and looking dull. If I use the black hair dye will it bring my hair back to life and will it wash out over time due to excessive washing?

    • It should not fade, I wash my hair sometimes twice a day and I am currently using black on my face, beard, eyebrows and sideburns. Our hair dyes are permanent, but everyones hair is different and depends on how much you go in the sun etc.
I would recommend to do root touch ups when hair grows out and just mix 40% henna and 60% indigo together and apply for one hour if you want to darken it up. Sometimes chemical treated hair can take a few times, but once you get our all natural hair dye going you will love it. Make sure you hair is clean and no more than one hour on. If you order black it comes with 100 grams of indigo and 100 grams of henna. it is our only two step process, however to darken just mix it 40/60 henna/indigo.

    Hello,

I just ordered 1 set black henna. I am in Ohio now and from the moment I arrived here, I tried to find a henna and any henna I tried on my hair disappointed me. They were all old and not good quality. I have gray hair in fact my hair is black. I hope your product will not disappoint me so I can order your product anytime I need it again. About the set, How can I use these two separate packets? Should I mix them or Anything else you have is to recommend so I can use your product in the best way? .. I hope your product’s production date is in last 2 weeks. Thank you

    • I hope it does not disappoint you as well. A little quick history on henna. it is only harvested once a year, sometimes twice. We put our henna in air tight and sun tight packages to keep it super fresh. it has a shelf life of over 4 years and works extremely well.
It works on 97% of the people who try it and out of the 3% only half follow the directions. I personally did my hair, beard, eyebrows and sideburns last night. It is all Jet black. The hair took more than 24 hours but beard, side burns and eye brows turned black instantly. I would guess that 80-90% of the henna and indigo on the market is no good because of poor packaging and poor soil conditions. So if ours does not work, none will work on you. Only add water! Nothing more. Follow our directions on the package not anyone else’s on the net.

      Thank you!

We are only selling "Harvest Moon® Hair and Beard Dye now simply because it is the best on the market.
