It has been 2 months since I last chemically dyed my hair. How long should I wait to henna my hair after chemically dyeing it?
2 months is plenty! A week is normally ok. The more you use it the better it will work. Remember to get the application kit for root touch ups. Sometimes reds you can keep doing your entire head not problem.
I am wanting to make the switch from chemical hair dye to henna because i want my hair to be healthier so it can grow longer. My hair is naturally light brown but I have been chemically dying it brownish red for about 3 years now. How would I go about using this product and would this natural red color be right for me?
Welcome to the group! And great Choice! We have a few choices and the only way to know if it is for you is if you try it! It is a wonderful product, start lighter and work darker, do root touch ups as needed to maintain the same color
I would use copper brown (top) to keep a natural red brown. If you want to get a little lose or wild go for the deep red
You can also use pure henna on brown to add a natural auburn. It works differently on everyone so do a strand test!
Thanks!
Thank you!! How soon can I use the henna after using the chemical dye? It has been about 5 weeks since I’ve done anything to my hair and my roots are starting to come in.
1 week is usually rule of thumb. You can always use it to just touch up the roots as they grow in as well.
Does Henna bleed out?
It is permanent. it might bleed the first week, especially if you have used a lot of chemical dyes. The more you use it the less it will bleed. Some people it does not bleed at all, just depends on your hair type.
I have black hair. Will this only give my hair a tint??
It will give you a tint and the more you sue it the more tint you will see, also you will get the conditioning effects, which are way worth it!
is your pure red is the same as sunset glow?
Our pure henna ( natural red head ) is the same as sunset glow.
I have copper colored hair and I want to keep it just about that color, but I want a little red highlights too. Should I go with copper top?
Yes or just pure henna. You can even try red. It works different on different people, once you find the right combo touch up the roots as they come in. You can mix any of our colors together.
I have naturally red hair, it has been permed and has become very light on the ends, I also want to cover the gray. My questoin is if I use the natural red and it is not dark enough can I then use a copper brown right away to darken it. I would like to have the color of the model used in your advertising(my color at a much younger age)? I also have shoulder length very thick hair and will 100gm be enough?
So sorry, we were not getting notified on comments for some reason.
Yes one packet will do bra length hair. and yes you can do what you asked. The color you get depends on what you start with. If you are dark in the beginning, then pure henna ( natural red) will give you red orange highlights. If it is light (gray or white) it will be very bright and you can sue the copper brown to darken it up. Copper brown on light areas can also some times come out red. The great part is you can mix any of our colors together
I have naturally red hair that is like an aurburn/copper color now but it is fading into an brown color, however I am trying to get it back to the orginal color aurburn permanetly without fading into different colors what would you suggest?
Either pure henna.. ( natural red ) or Copper brown(top). copper brown on auburn can be more auburn sometimes… hard to tell how it will work on you. maybe our before and after natural hair dye pictures will help?
Thank you for that information, What would happen if I used the bottled lemon? because that is what I used with the sunset glow I didnt use water lol. Thank you again!!
Sincerely Pam Watts
Well fact is fresh henna is good henna, so it will work with concentrate. Fresh lemon works much much better from all the testing we have done. If you use fresh lemon you can more than likely use it asap. First time maybe let it sit 3 hours mixed with fresh lemon and water.
1 full lemon and approx 1 cup of water should do it. Our henna you don’t even have to use a lemon and it will work wonders. Just do not add any other items unless it is shelly oil. Shelly oil works wonders with pure henna.
It is the sunset glow color its the light orange color. Thanks
Pam Watts
That is ok, I just needed the color “you” want. We have sold a ton of them looking for sunset glow and each person wanted a different color. But it all comes down to the same color because it is what you are starting with that counts.
and not bottled lemon!
The same color would be our pure henna. Just mix with one fresh squeezed lemon and let it set out longer for a more “glow”. I would recommend 6 hours and then apply for 1-2 hours.
This recommendation is just for this color. Here is the Link for Sunset glow. ( Sunset Orange is the same thing…) Just use the lemon
I was using Hennalucent Sunset Glow, and I cannot find anything that is close to that color can you help me? Do you have a color that will come close if not match it? Thank you for any help you can give me.
Pam Watts
Yes. They have been referring a lot of people to us. Tell me what color you are trying to get and I will tell you which one to get.
I have naturally thick strawberry blond hair and I’d love for it to be a little more red without looking fake. What would you suggest?
Pure henna. First time maybe 30 minutes. An hour if it is not natural enough. Here is some before and after pics : Henna Testimonials 4th one down.
I used to use Hennaluscent Sunset Glo mixed with a little Bark brown. They stopped making it. I have tried 3 other brands but they only cover my gray for a few days. I used to get full coverage until the roots grew out in 2 weeks.
I’m looking for a medium auburn and have medium brown with some gray naturally.
Help! What will cover my gray longer and look like a totally natural redhead? People think it’s my natural color.
sb
Hi, yes henna lucent has been referring a lot of people to us. Sunset glow with dark brown is almost our copper brown. I would suggest that or you can mix pure with dark brown and you will have the same effect. Make sure your hair is super clean prior to application and leave on for only one hour! That should cover your gray just fine. Once you get the color you want just do root touch ups. You can also mix red with brown and get a more red feel. Our dyes are permanent and 100% chemical free as well.
I have medium brown hair naturally and am wondering whether I should go with the red or natural red henna. I am wanting closest to the natural red head color, but am not sure the natural red will work on my hair color. Do I need to use the red because my hair is darker? I looked at your before and after pictures, but the only one I could find was not a very good picture, so it is hard for me to tell which color I should pick.
Hard to tell not seeing a pciture of you, pure henna would be best, however remember that any light areas will be highlighted brighter red. So I would say pure henna or copper brown. If your hair is light copper brown will look natural as well.
my wife uses copepr top and she had medium brown to start with. once you get the color with copper brown(first top picture) make sure you just do root touch ups to keep the same color.
I have dark blonde hair and i really want to go the natural route. I was recently informed about henna hair dye doing exactly that. My question is: i’m going for an auburn color (or deep red) but i wasn’t sure which color would have the best result. I was thinking the Natural Red, but i was not sure if that was just the color type or for people who already have red hair?
Since you are starting off with a blonde color and desire to have a “deep red” then I would suggest you go with our deep red color. I am affraid if you go with just “red” that it might be a little to bright of a red and the “natural red” will give you a red/orange tint on your dark blonde hair. We always suggest to do a strand test before your all over application to determine if the color is right for you and see how long to leave the product on your hair to get your desired color. Follow this link: to see before and after pictures of actual customers that used the 3 different red colors.
