Indigo Hair Dye
(Purchase at bottom of page)
Indigo hair dye like its cousin henna hair dye also comes from a variety of plants (dyer’s knotweed, woad etc). Indigo used with henna will turn hair jet black. Our Indigo is 100% Natural.
There is no chemicals added to our Indigo what so ever. We all are around Indigo on a daily bases. It is in our jeans, our food we eat on a daily bases (food coloring) and many other fabrics. Indigo is a green color and smells like frozen vegetables. Some say frozen peas, some say spinach.
Our natural Indigo hair dye is easily mixed with water. Once mixed with water you will see blue start to appear at the top. The blue is a good sign you have good Indigo. Indigo hair dye is ready instantly. For best results, dye hair with henna first. It works on just about any hair.
If you have chemically died your hair in the last year or are not sure how it will turn out, make sure to do a strand test. Take hair from a brush or cut a small strand out. Indigo is a permanent hair dye and will not wash out! It will fade over time but it acts like a chemical hair dye without the chemicals!
Make sure to discard any leftover indigo powder. If you do not need to use all of the Indigo do not mix all of the Indigo! Sunlight and air can ruin Indigo over time so make sure you seal any leftover Indigo powder in a zip lock bag and store it in a dark location. Our Indigo and Henna is 2 ply air tight sealed for freshness and to keep sunlight out.
It takes up to 24 hours for hair to set in final color. After you remove the Indigo you maybe a bit blue, this is ok! By Morning it should be black and then a gorgeous jet black!
Always make sure to cover floor and clothes when applying henna. You will need a friend to help you.
Let’s go over some details:
• Indigo hair dye or powder is safe

• Keep on hour no longer than 2 hours. Usually an hour is fine
• Never assume all Henna and Indigo is mixed the same!
• Always follow instructions that come with henna, not someone else’s!
Where can I purchase indigo. I live in Makati City, Philippines.
http://hennahut.com/indigo . Make sure you get henna if you are going to do black.
See black for that. http://hennahut.com/hair_dye
I am having trouble getting my roots a color that is not red. I have tried the medium brown, which still results in red. My roots are 50% white, more in some areas, less in others. Would I do better to try the dark brown, or should I try indigo for a short period over the red? The rest of my hair is almost black due to a so called “natural” hair color that turned my hair purple, blue, black when it was labeled a 5N. In the sun my roots definitely stand out as very reddish against the very dark rest of my hair. Also, are you out of the dark brown? I can’t seem to get any in my cart though it says “in stock” on the web page. Thank you for your help.

We do have dark brown in stock yes. Make sure your pop up blocker is turned off, if that does not work go to our flag ship site at http://hennahut.com/dark_brown_hair_dye.
Make sure you DO NOT leave it on for an hour. I cannot speak for the other brand you used, however Harvest Moon brown’s Have indigo and henna in it. So if you leave it on for over an hour
the indigo stops releasing the dye and the henna keeps on releasing the dye. Also sometimes it will turn your gray hair green or red or even blueish purple and then turn brown over night.
If your hair turns purple after that it usually means alcohol is involved. Shampoos, colognes, even liqueur will do it. Do your whole head and then just touch up your roots as needed.
Cover your gray the natural way! With Harvest Moon Hair Dye. Thank you!
Also you can try some indigo, but if it has been more than a few days it might not work as well.
I would do the dark brown and it will cover your gray (or white roots). Just remember NOT MORE THAN 1 HOUR!
I have just recently found out that i am extremely allergic to chemical hair dye when dying my hair brown. It is the shop bought dye, e.g. guarnier. If i use any of your henna hair dye, is there ANY chance of getting an allergic reaction from it? I intend to dye it with the indigo to get the black result. Can you guarantee 100 percent that there will be no reaction? Thank you.
95% percent of the people that use our products use them for the exact same reason as you. It is a common chemical called PPD you and everyone else is allergic to. There is always a chance of you being allergic to “ANYthing”. Some area allergic to shell fish, some grass, some honey and some even the sun. There is a 99% chance that you will not be allergic to our dye, however we always ask people to do a strand test. You can apply a small amount to inside of your arm closest to your elbow.
We have helped many still color there hair after they ended up in the hospital from using chemical hair dye and I am sure it will work for you. Make sure you sign up for our news letter for discounts and promotions. http://hennahut.com/subscribe
