Lush henna comes in a brick. It is premixed and hardened. You have to chop it, boil it, microwave it and this takes a very long time. Our henna is harvested, dried and ground down and then sifted 3 times. While in a powder form it is placed in a air tight pouch and the air is sucked out. Air and sun ruin henna. It is then placed in a sun tight pouch and sealed. This keeps our henna super fresh. Plus you are getting more henna for your buck. Since it is premixed it makes it heavier.
Our henna is pure-er as it is in its purest form. It does have an organic seal in India we just have not done so in the USA. Ours also will have a much much longer shelf life. Also as soon as henna is mixed with water it begins to lose the dye molecules. You only want to mix it when you are ready to use it to keep it super fresh. Lush just does it different and it is a lot of work!
